The reason why the author decided to research the subject of analysing leadership style adopted in Petroleum Development Oman derives from his great interest to analyse the Company leadership which is currently facing major challenges in sustaining oil production. His long term desire is to become a future leader in his organisation. During the initial research process, the author experienced difficulties in having access to information about the Company. However, access fortunately to information and relevant people at a later stage of the research were less problematic than previously assumed. This research approach had some limitations which must be recognized. The main objective of the research aims to analyse the leadership style adopted by Petroleum Development Oman. The study also extends to analyse the obstacles that women face as they aim to progress in higher leadership positions. A combination of secondary and primary researches are undertaken to achieve objectives proposed. The completion of this research owes thanks to a number of people.
